We are on the move! From 1st April 2015, the London Rolfing Clinic is moving to a new temporary home at Lumen at 88 Tavistock Place.
After a great seven months at Atelier Tammam, London Rolfing is packing up her kit bag and trundling around the corner to Tavistock Place to Lumen, home to the United Reformed Church as well as a regular venue for a number of local church, community and arts groups. We’re still just a few minutes’ walk from St Pancras, King’s Cross and Euston mainline stations, as well as King’s Cross St Pancras and Russell Square tube stations.
In the usual manner of all things London Rolfing, Lumen offers another inspiring and quirky venue in which to receive the Rolfing ten series. Lumen’s precursor church, the Presbyterian Church of Regent Square, existed from 1827 until its destruction by a V2 bomb at the very end of the Second World War, in 1945. Rebuilt in a modern style in 1965, the building was substantially redeveloped in 2008 by the award-winning architects, Theis and Khan, re-opening under its new name, Lumen URC.
Lumen now makes light a central feature of its airy and spacious communal spaces and courtyard, and will additionally offer greater comfort and privacy for my clients. I will also have more flexibility in my appointment times.
Enormous thanks are due to the lovely Lucy Tammam and her team for hosting London Rolfing at her delightful studio on Hastings Street, as well as Nanna Sandom at Splendid Stitches.
I look forward to seeing you at Lumen soon.
[Update: November 2016: Still at Lumen and loving it. Now with added art, cake and fresh-cooked meals, thanks to the re-opening of the Lumen Cafe and Lumen Art Gallery under the new management of Black Olive Cooks, Lumen remains a truly lovely place to try Rolfing: appointments available Monday-Saturday, usually from 11am (latest appointments at 6pm or 6.30pm). Time to make a booking?]
